Following the 6.6 M earthquake that occurred in Luding County (Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province) on 5 September, the death toll is increasing.

According to the People's Government of Sichuan Province, at least 74 people have died (including 40 people in Ganzi Prefecture and 34 people in Ya'an City), 35 others are still missing and 270 have been injured. In addition, more than 20,000 people have been evacuated in 124 evacuation centres.

Rescue and emergency activities conducted by the authorities are still ongoing.
