The Philippines - Floods and landslide

Over the past few days, western and southern Philippines continued to experience heavy rain that caused floods, triggered landslides and resulted in casualties and damage.

According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), in Lanao del Norte Province (Northern Mindanao Region), one person died, almost 1,900 people have been displaced, and more than 5,700 were affected following widespread floods. In the Provinces of Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte (Davao Region), 130 people have been displaced, and approximately 15,300 people have been affected by floods and landslides. Furthermore, 7,495 people in Maguindanao (BARMM Region), and 3,275 others in Mimaropa Region have been affected by floods.

For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain is forecast across Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region. Light to moderate rain is expected over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Ilocos, and Calabarzon.

Extreme flood advisories are in effect for parts of the Regions of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and Northern Mindanao.
