In the past few days, Indonesia has been battered by heavy rainfall, strong winds, floods, and landslides in several regions. The natural disasters have led to casualties, displacements, and severe damages in many parts of the country.
According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), one person has died, and 448 people have been affected by floods in Mandar Regency, located in West Sulawesi Province. Meanwhile, in Bandung, Bogor, and Karawang Regency, which are part of the West Java Province, almost 7,000 people have been affected due to floods and landslides.
Furthermore, the floods have hit hard in Solok Regency, located in West Sumatra Province, where more than 700 people have been affected. The scale of the damage is yet to be assessed.
As the natural disasters continue to wreak havoc in several parts of the country, the authorities have issued warnings to people living in affected areas. They have been advised to take precautionary measures to minimize the risks to life and property.
For the next 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall, with localized thunderstorms, is forecast across the affected provinces. People are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to protect themselves and their belongings.
The government has already started deploying rescue teams and relief materials to the affected areas. They have also set up temporary shelters for the people displaced by the natural disasters.
As the situation remains volatile, the authorities are keeping a close eye on the developments and have assured people of all possible assistance in these testing times.
