Since September 4th, southern Brazil has been battered by an extratropical cyclone, unleashing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and hailstorms. The states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul are in the throes of this destructive weather pattern. The latest assessment by Rio Grande do Sul's Civil Defence paints a grim picture, with 340,928 people affected across 93 municipalities.
