Recent rainfall has affected more than 341,000 people in 11 of the 23 provinces of Chad, as reported by UN OCHA.

One of the most impacted areas includes the province of Logone Occidental with 147,129 affected people, followed by Sila with 77,357 and N'Djamena with 41,262. National authorities, as well as intergovernmental agencies, are responding to the emergency by providing food and non-food kits to the affected provinces.

On 24-25 August, heavy to locally very heavy rainfall is forecast over central and southern Chad.
