Heavy rainfall has been affecting parts of Colombia (particularly the Bogotá area, and the Departments of Cundinamarca and North Santander) over the past few days, causing floods, triggering landslides and leading to casualties and damage.
According to media reports, two people died in La Calera municipality (Cundinamarca Department, central Colombia) following the overflow of Moraci Creek. In El Molino village (North Santander Department, north-eastern Colombia), five people are missing, and 125 people have been displaced after a landslide event. Furthermore, 270 people have been affected, three houses have been destroyed and six damaged by landslides in the Bogotá City area (central Colombia).
For the next 24 hours moderate to heavy rain is forecast over the western central and northern Colombia.
