Over the past few days, heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding across several areas of Bahia State (north-eastern Brazil).
According to media, nearly 3,000 people have been displaced in Prado city (southern Bahia), as floodwaters have damaged a number of houses and transportation infrastructure, isolating several communities. The city of Ibicaraí (southern Bahia) has also been affected by floods, and about 80 people have been displaced.
Additional flooding was reported across the cities of Itanhém and Itabuna.
Light to moderate rainfall is forecast from 20 November to 1 December over most of Bahia state, particularly eastern areas.
