Afghanistan - Cold wave

Body

Afghanistan is currently experiencing an extreme cold snap, with temperatures dropping to as low as -33°C in some areas. The cold weather has resulted in the deaths of at least 70 people and the loss of over 70,000 cattle. Additionally, 140 people have been hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning due to the use of gas as a heating source. The country is already facing a humanitarian crisis, with a large portion of the population facing acute food shortages. The ban on women working for humanitarian organizations by the Taliban is expected to worsen the situation.
