Heavy rainfall has been causing floods in Mindanao and Vysayas since 6 May, leading to evacuations and damage. According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), over 35,500 people have been evacuated, with over 19,000 people in 136 evacuation centers across the Western Visayas Region. The DSWD also reports that 160 houses have been damaged, with 61 of them completely destroyed. In addition, 528 people have been evacuated from the Davao de Oro Province in the Davao Region. Moderate rainfall is forecast in south-eastern Mindanao over the next 24 hours, while drier conditions are expected in the affected areas.
