Body

Ten people have lost their lives in landslides that have devastated the northern states of India. The heavy monsoon rains have resulted in flash floods and waterlogging, causing significant disruptions in New Delhi and Gurugram. The Northern Railways has canceled 17 trains and diverted 12 others due to the flood situation. Record-breaking rainfall has been recorded, with Delhi receiving 153 mm of rain in 24 hours, while Chandigarh and Ambala in Haryana reported rainfall of 322.2 mm and 224.1 mm, respectively, according to the India Meteorological Department.

\Social media platforms have been inundated with videos showing the destructive landslides in Himachal Pradesh. A Red alert has been issued as the death toll reaches five. Tragically, three members of a family were killed in Shimla's Kotgarh area when their house collapsed, and one death each was reported in Kullu and Chamba districts. Himachal Pradesh has experienced 14 major landslides and 13 flash floods, leading to the closure of approximately 7,000 roads. The situation remains critical in the affected regions.
