On 13th July, a region of south-eastern Vietnam, including Hong Thai, Phan Thanh, and Luong In Son Communes in Binh Thuan Province, experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, resulting in significant casualties and damage.
According to reports from the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), one person lost their life, and another individual was injured in Thai Hiep Village, which is part of Hong Thai Commune. The extreme weather conditions caused significant harm in this area.
Additionally, the disaster also led to extensive damage to buildings in the affected regions. A total of 43 buildings were reported to have been damaged in Hong Thai, Tam Thanhas, and Cho Moi district, which is located in An Giang province.
Local authorities and emergency response teams are actively engaged in providing assistance to the affected communities and assessing the extent of the damage caused by the severe weather event. Measures to aid the injured, address immediate needs, and initiate recovery efforts are underway.
