Cameroon, on the Gulf of Guinea, is a Central African country of varied terrain and wildlife. Its inland capital, Yaoundé, and its biggest city, the seaport Douala, are transit points to ecotourism sites as well as beach resorts like Kribi – near the Chutes de la Lobé waterfalls, which plunge directly into the sea – and Limbe, where the Limbe Wildlife Centre houses rescued primates. ― Google

LIMBE I — A relentless series of heavy rainfall since July 16 has plunged Limbe I into a state of crisis, with the most recent deluge on July 18-19 resulting in widespread destruction. The intensified rains, particularly during nighttime, culminated in the destruction of three houses due to floods and landslides. Tragically, two lives were lost in the calamity, both males in their 30s.

Several areas in Limbe I remain submerged, hindering access and impeding relief efforts. Notably, Down Beach is among the locations still inundated and unreachable.

Local authorities and emergency services are working diligently to assist those affected, conducting rescue operations, providing medical aid, and delivering essential supplies. The incident serves as a somber reminder of coastal communities' vulnerability to nature's fury and underscores the pressing need for robust disaster response measures.

Despite the challenges, the resilient community of Limbe I remains determined to recover and rebuild, displaying unwavering unity in the face of adversity.
