Since May 2023, a significant influx of 37,273 women and children, including 5,617 Central African returnees, have arrived in the Central African Republic (CAR) from Chad. These individuals are currently seeking refuge with host families and are accommodated at internally displaced persons (IDP) sites in Paoua and Markounda. The humanitarian community has been actively engaged in providing essential support since June 2023, with a focus on multisectoral assistance for both the newcomers and host families.
