Heavy rainfall has been affecting south-southwestern China since 23 August, in particular Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan Province.

According to media, as of 24 August, more than 6,000 people have been evacuated in Lingyun County in north-western Guangxi Region due to flooding risk.

The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has issued a blue alert for mountain torrents in the aforementioned Provinces. For the next 24 hours, more heavy rain is forecast over southern China with locally heavy rainfall.
