What changed
First retained snapshot
No earlier verified snapshot is present in the recovered dataset. This record remains available as the historical baseline.
Situation
The GDACS Orange flood alert for India was updated with 25 reported deaths and 260,524 displaced people across the event period from 9 August to 16 September 2026. The previous retained snapshot listed 23 deaths and 240,570 displaced people, so the latest observation adds two deaths and 19,954 displaced people. The most recent episode note concerned heavy rain and flooding in Gujarat in mid-September. Figures remain provisional and may change as state and national authorities reconcile reports. The NASA Worldview image provides satellite cloud context over Gujarat on 18 September; it is not a flood-depth map.
