Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency reported five deaths, six people missing and 23 people injured in its eighth Typhoon Dujuan-26 damage report, issued on 22 September 2026 at 12:30 JST. Of those injured, three were seriously injured and 20 sustained minor injuries. Earlier press counts of two to four deaths are retained as timing snapshots, not competing current totals.
The FDMA housing assessment recorded 468 homes affected: 21 destroyed, five half-destroyed, 328 flooded above floor level, 84 flooded below floor level and 30 partially damaged. The preceding warning phase brought torrential rain, violent winds and the highest-level landslide emergency warning to Oshima after more than 300 mm of rain in parts of the Izu Islands.
Evacuation-instruction populations are not promoted as actual displacement. Casualty and housing totals remain subject to official reconciliation as searches and local assessments continue.
