Situation
DSWD DROMIC Report 85, issued on 22 September 2026 at 06:00 PHT, records 1,674,308 people affected by the magnitude 7.8 Maasim, Sarangani earthquake and 92,407 people still displaced. Of those displaced, 22,626 were inside evacuation centres and 69,781 were staying outside. Authorities recorded 128,604 damaged houses.

The decline of 2,414 people, entirely in the inside-centre count, is treated as a clear returns or status reconciliation rather than a casualty or rescue change.
The earthquake occurred on 8 June 2026. Both observations remain in the evidence history and figures may continue to change as household status and damage assessments are reconciled.
WorldsAid verification

Earlier observations remain in the evidence history instead of being silently overwritten.
