Situation
On 18 March 2023, torrential rain triggered flash floods and mudslides from Mount Cameroon through communities in Buea, capital of Cameroon's South-West Region. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that homes, livelihoods and public infrastructure were damaged and that people were killed and injured. Later humanitarian assessments recorded about 2,000 people affected and roughly 160 households impacted.
