Situation
Heavy to very heavy rainfall from 24–27 September 2026 triggered floods, landslides and inundation across Nepal. An NDRRMA-attributed report dated 28 September records 21 deaths, five missing and five injured, with 747 families directly affected; nearly 2,000 people moved from high-risk areas, not counted as displaced. A separate NDRRMA Heavy Rainfall Situation Report #1, covering 24–27 September and issued at 19:00 NPT on 28 September, reports 27 deaths, four missing, eight injured and 1,082 families affected; 227 houses fully and 142 partly damaged, and 31 bridges damaged. It says around 2,000 at-risk people were moved to safety. The report series and tallies are preserved separately. Evacuation is not represented as displacement.
The Nepal Red Cross Society’s 27 September monsoon bulletin separately reports 15 deaths, four injuries and 10 missing across its situation scope, including one avalanche; it also notes 412 houses fully damaged and flooding affecting an estimated 849 households. Reuters separately reported 14 deaths and 11 missing in its 29 September account. These source and date series are not added or reconciled. The Himlung Himal avalanche remains a separate event record.
