How the score is calculated
The score starts at 8. It adds points from recorded affected, deaths, displaced and casualty counts, plus terms found in the story title, event type or status. For each count, only its highest matching band is used.

Situation
GDACS episode 5 currently reports no deaths, 30 people displaced and 30 houses damaged in Boukaria, Kankan Region, from 3 to 5 October 2026. The GDACS revision timeline separately records episode 1 at one death and 269 people displaced from 18 to 20 September. GDACS does not publish a combined 299-person total on the current event page, so WorldsAid retains the two episodes separately and does not add them.
A separate 20 September assessment attributed to Guinea's National Agency for the Management of Humanitarian Emergencies and Disasters (ANGUCH) recorded 269 people affected and temporarily rehoused after flooding in Coyah and Manéah, including one death and eight injured people. Coyah accounted for 218 people, the death and all eight injuries; Manéah accounted for 51 people and no reported death. The identical 269 values in the GDACS September episode and the local assessment may reflect different classifications or scopes. WorldsAid preserves both source series and does not treat them as interchangeable.
